The education system in New Mexico is broken. I believe the majority of our teachers, administrators, and school boards are made up of hard-working people who truly care for our children. However, how and what they teach, and when and where they can build schools is dictated by out-of-touch bureaucrats in Santa Fe and Washington.

I support putting greater control over schools into the hands of parents and local communities, who know the individual needs of our children. I also support rewarding effective teachers and holding ineffective teachers accountable.
